Here they are, fresh from Scholastic. The top pic is of the British kid's version, the second is the Brit adult version and at the bottom we have the US version of the wrap around cover. So, it looks like Harry and Voldy go at it in a public area a la Gladiator or Voldy has once again snagged him somewhere and its his followers we see in the back ground. Of course, I could be completely off about this one.
My vacation has been pretty uneventful thus far. I've had the pleasure of crouching in really odd positions in order to clean the floor around my bathroom fixtures. I could sit on my toliet and wash my hands at the same time such is the tightness of space in the room. I took some stuff to Goodwill. Would have taken more, but I didn't grab boxes from work before I left.
As to work, there is some sort of chaos going on there that I am missing. Our lone department manager disappeared suddenly. Word has it the cops came looking for him on a day he wasn't in the store. The latest I've caught wind of is he may have been stealing from the store. Sadly, this is all the intel I have right now. I'm hoping to get some more soon. Now we are down to only 3 managers who can open and close the store. Guess we should have replaced Laura by now, eh?
No good movies have come to town for me to go see and there seems to be an issue with Netflix right now. I sent a dvd back on Mon. and I have yet to get its replacement. But, on Friday I should be going to see The Lookout which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I've heard good things about it and Joseph is a really good actor so I'm excited.
Quick 24 bitch, first off I cheesed and forgot to change the channel on the digital cable so I missed taping Prison Break (arrrghhhh) and missed the first 15 or so minutes of 24. I come in when some guy has been shot and his brother is going to have to meet with the bad guys. Now, here's what irked me off. The brother had some sort of learning disability and seemed to behave like a small child. I was fully prepared to quit watching this show if anything happened to him. Luckily, nothing did, but I thought it was a really lame plot device to use this sort of character for a short, one time appearance. The only reason the guy was special needs was to give Jack the chance to be compassionate to someone and to create tension (as if 3 roaming nukes weren't tension enough). It just seemed like a writing cop out and it annoyed me. I'm sure it has to be difficult to write for such a show, but I really think they could have gotten by with an average joe. I wonder if they wanted to make the character an actual child then decided they'd hear to much shit about it?
Finally, my brackets have been completely destroyed thanks to last weekend. I think I'm rooting for Georgetown now.
