Ginger Snap, friend of Strawberry Shortcake, and structural engineer

Hey look, I'm still alive...barely. My normally busy week was even busier thanks to my sales rep being on vacation. I believe I spent most of my Mon. and Tues. on the phone confirming that yes, Steve was on vacation. I also spent an absurd amount of time looking for replacement units for equipment from 1988.

My NCAA picks have been so so thus far. On Thurs. I was a horrid 9-7, but 4 of those 7 were games decided by 4 pts. or less. Plus, I had to go with Illinois as an alum. Friday was much better as I pulled a 13-3. Excellent evening games by the by especially the two overtime contests. YEAH SIENNA! Hopefully my Blue Devils can get past Texas today.

This morning while waiting for my work laptop to boot up I flipped the channel over to CBS in preparation of today's basketball games. Morning cartoons were still on and I saw a few moments of the new Strawberry Shortcake. Apparently, Straw and the gang were going to Ice Cream Island. En route, they needed to cross a bridge over a raging river. For a moment I was expecting Kevin Bacon to come along in a raft with Meryl Streep and it would be The River Wild all over again (pretty good movie by the way). While pondering if the rickety bridge would allow them safe passage, Straw turns to her gal pal Ginger Snap and asks what she thinks. I didn't realize that Ginger had once worked for the Army Corp of Engineers. She took a look, tilted her head in that "I'm looking under the hood of my car, but I don't know anything about cars, but I want to make it look like I can take an educated guess" sort of way and declared "I think it will be fine...as long as the middle holds." I'm not sure what sort of school she went to, but she needs to go back since the horse, Honeypot, got stuck in the middle of the bridge as it began to collapse. What sort of lesson is this teaching our sugar numbed youth? Take a guess and you might get lucky? Lie about your qualifications in order to control others? Don't take children's television so literally? Probably the last one.

GO DUKE!
